All cruises are international, meaning that all materials—such as menus, public announcements, etc.—are in English. Similarly, tours are available with English-speaking guides, and the crew on board speaks English (and usually German as well).
In Cologne, there are many sights to see, all overshadowed by the cathedral. At 144.5 meters long and 157.38 meters high, it is the third-tallest church building in the world. The view of Cologne, the Rhine, and the surrounding area is definitely worth the effort of climbing the 533 steps of the south tower. Another fantastic sight is the Basilica of St. Martin. In front of it, the colorful houses of Cologne’s fish market seem to glow. Thanks to its location far from the hustle and bustle of the city center, you can enjoy the atmosphere of the old town here. Visit one of the many Christmas markets in the old town.
The historic center of Düsseldorf is also known as “the world’s longest bar.” In more than 300 pubs, freshly tapped Altbier meets all kinds of people. Of course, you can also have fun in Düsseldorf without alcohol. Luxurious boulevards like the “Kö” invite you to take a stroll, while numerous parks and the beautiful Rhine promenade invite you to relax—if only there weren’t so many museums to visit!
