Wouldn’t it be nice to explore several cities and regions in a single trip and discover that each of these destinations is well worth the visit? That’s exactly what you’ll experience along the nearly 3,000-kilometer stretch of the Danube between the Black Forest and the Black Sea. In the untamed city of Bratislava, the Renaissance meets socialism, and science fiction flourishes alongside the Baroque. Budapest—so majestic yet so quirky—feels improvised with its “ruin pubs” and former schools and factories converted into offices. And then there’s the Hungarian language! And Vienna, too. This city, reminiscent of an ornate pink pastry, is another destination visitors will fall in love with thanks to its blend of Oriental, German, and French influences. One trip to Vienna is really not enough: you’ll want to come back to discover even more. And you’ll probably want to return for the Wäschermäderln, Vienna’s famous apricots filled with marzipan.

BASIC - Classic Danube Cruise (DONNA)

All cruises are international, meaning that all materials—such as menus, public announcements, etc.—are in English. Similarly, tours are available with English-speaking guides, and the onboard staff speaks English (and usually German as well).

Vienna - Once you find yourself in Vienna for a few hours, you won’t want to rush. You’ll want to visit the countless cafés where traditional Viennese café culture still thrives today. And the rich history of the emperors, Sissi, and the Habsburgs, with their lavish lifestyle, adds to the city’s fascination. Or you can lose yourself in the sounds of Viennese classical music. The Austrian capital also inspires on a culinary level: it’s no coincidence that the famous Wiener Schnitzel and Sachertorte have become household names around the world.

Esztergom – once a famous city in Hungary, it lies directly on the banks of the Danube and can be admired right from the river. The castle tower and the massive basilica create a stunning view, rising from the steep banks of the Danube. This view is worth a photo from the A-ROSA sun deck.

Budapest - Do you know how many bridges Budapest has? There are seven in total—and they span the river between the Buda and Pest districts. The most famous is probably the Széchenyi Chain Bridge. You’ll see Budapest’s impressive architecture with your own eyes as you cruise down the Danube. And if you step out onto the sun deck, you’ll have an unobstructed view of the famous Hungarian Parliament Building. The perfect way to experience this breathtaking city!

SPA-ROSA: Everyone has their own way of relaxing: in their cabin, on the sun deck, reading, taking a walk, admiring the surroundings, or visiting SPA-ROSA. What else is there to do but try it all!

2 Vienna 14:00 -
Vienna has a rich history, with its emperors, Elisabeth of Austria and the ostentatious Habsburgs, adding to its fascination. Music also plays a big part of any visit where the First Viennese School of composers Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven were equally inspired by the city. Explore The Hofburg Palace, take a ride on the Riesenrad Ferris Wheel or visit the famous traditional coffee houses. The Austrian capital also produces excellent cuisine, with Wiener schnitzel and Sachertorte worth trying.

6 Bratislava 09:00 15:30
Bratislava, the youngest capital in Europe, is situated exactly at the point where the country meets Austria and Hungary. This makes it the only capital city in the world that borders more than one neighbouring country. Due to its location, Bratislava has been an ethnic melting pot since ancient times. Cultures meet and merge together. The streets of the old town – lined with well-preserved baroque and rococo city palaces – are filled with the sound of people speaking different languages.
7 Krems 08:00 09:00
Krems an der Donau is not far from the Austrian capital of Vienna. The city is part of the Wachau, a stretch of the Danube valley and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your Danube cruise will take you through Krems, passing through the Wachau on the way to and from Vienna.
